Kris McGee
LEAD PASTORKris graduated from Wheaton College and Dallas Theological Seminary. Before coming to Hope Community Church in 2020, Kris served in a variety of roles mainly focusing on shepherding, teaching, counseling, and developing leaders. He enjoys getting a front row seat to watching God transform people's lives.

Adam Carter
ASSOCIATE PASTORAdam graduated from Maranatha Baptist University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. After college, he served as a Minister to Students for four years. Adam has a heart to see people of all ages glorifying God together and has been at Hope since 2015, first as Lead Pastor for 5 years and now as Associate Pastor overseeing small groups, Sunday teams, and care ministries.

Sarah Guild
DIRECTOR OF MINISTRIESSarah and her family have lived in various cities in the Midwest and have been in Kansas City for a good part of that time. In the various seasons, she has worked as a high school science teacher, curriculum writer, full-time mom and women's ministry leader. She loves knowing people and developing ways of teaching and leading them that facilitate learning and growth.

Steve Bailey
MINISTER OF FAMILY DISCIPLESHIPSteve graduated from Azusa Pacific University and completed a degree in Christian Spiritual Formation and Leadership through Friends University in 2024. Steve has worked in education and youth ministry for the past 25 years in California and Kansas. His great passion is to form meaningful relationships with people, encouraging and equipping them as they grow in their apprenticeship to Jesus.

MINISTER TO YOUTH & WORSHIP
Matt grew up in College Station, TX and graduated from Texas A&M University. Matt has lived in the Kansas City area for 7 years and has attended Hope since 2021, where he met and married his wife Susanna. Matt has been involved in various student ministries since college and has been leading worship for the last 10 years. He is excited to get to be a part of what God is doing here at Hope!

CHILDREN'S MINISTER | PRESCHOOL & EARLY ELEMENTARY
Justise joined the HCC staff in the summer of 2023 after years of preschool teaching and investment in early childhood education. Justise and her family have lived in the Kansas City area for more than a decade and they came to Hope in December of 2020. She is passionate about the growth and development of children and it gives her joy to see them grow to love God and be a part of the church family.

CHILDREN'S MINISTER | YOUNGER TODDLERS
Jackie is originally a Colorado native but has grown roots in Kansas City over the past decade. She spent 8 years as a pediatric nurse in a children’s hospital before becoming a full-time mom to three girls. Jackie has previously been involved in campus ministry, lived on mission in Greece, and is passionate about the Gospel for little ones, with God’s calling for us to all be childlike.

Laura New
ADMINISTRATOR & ASSISTANT TO THE LEAD PASTORLaura has attended Hope since 2017, and became a member in 2021. She joined the HCC staff in May 2021. Laura has a background in music education, project management, and office administration.

ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR OF MINISTRIES
Elizabeth and her family moved back to KC in early 2023. Their midwestern roots and love for this city couldn’t keep them away for long. She grew up and attended school in Nebraska and then moved away after marrying Ben in 2013. They've lived in Denver, KC, & Boston with their two sons and dog. Elizabeth has a background in photography and office administration. She has a deep love for the church and finds great joy in serving at Hope.

Lucas Whitson
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANTLuke graduated from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies. He has taught at Midwestern as an adjunct for five years, and loves to open the Bible with others, particularly in the original languages. Luke has been a member at HCC since 2022.

Roxanne Adrian
INSTRUMENTALISTRoxanne began her position as a pianist at HCC in October 2007. She attended Baptist Bible College and Southwestern Missouri State University, where she received her Master of Arts in Music Education with Honor Diploma for Piano. For 10 years, she taught in the music department at Baptist Bible College. She then served on staff at another local church before coming to Hope.
