Position Summary:
The Worship Minister at Hope Community Church works with the Lead Pastor to provide leadership, vision, planning, and execution for the Sunday morning worship ministry and select special events.
Responsibilities:
In consultation with the Lead Pastor, oversee the selection of music and liturgical elements for each service.
Plan and lead the set on Sundays 2-3 times per month.
Work with other worship leaders as they plan and lead their sets.
Oversee scheduling of and communication to worship leaders and worship team members for Sunday services.
Prepare for and lead rehearsals on the Sundays you serve as Worship Leader.
Prepare and print songbooks and other materials for all rehearsals and services.
Prepare and print copies of liturgies and scripture for the Lead Pastor, lay leaders, and the AV team.
Curate Hope Community Church’s voice as a collective Worship Team.
Plan and execute regular team meetings for the Worship Team.
Provide coaching and oversight of the training of volunteers (vocalists, instrumentalists, and audio/visual technicians).
Recruit volunteers for the worship team.
Coordinate on technological needs with the leader of the AV team.
Work with other church staff as needed to ensure that all services are properly planned and executed.
Attend weekly staff meetings and participate in the planning and implementation of church programs that will fulfill the mission and vision of the church.
Assist in planning, implementing, and leading worship for special events outside of Sunday worship services, e.g., Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, Family Worship Services, and smaller worship gatherings.
Report song usage on CCLI.
Prepare and recommend the annual plan and budget for the Worship Ministry (including AV) alongside staff and ministry teams.
Develop and maintain relationships with members of the congregation.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Meets the qualifications of a deacon from 1 Timothy 3.
Commitment to and alignment with the church’s doctrine, vision, values, and beliefs.
3+ years of experience leading worship services preferred.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to effectively lead and engage a congregation in worship.
Proficiency to lead worship both vocally and with a guitar and/or keyboard.
Ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
A passion for worship and spiritual growth.
Time Allocation: 20 hrs/Week
