Position Summary:
The Facility Coordinator works with the church’s Property Team to
oversee the management of the physical facilities of the church, helping
ensure a safe and hospitable environment for the church body. This role
involves overseeing and performing routine maintenance and repairs,
managing construction and renovation projects, coordinating with
contractors, working with volunteers, and ensuring timely completion
within budget. The coordinator will also oversee vendor relationships,
inspect facilities for repairs, and ensure compliance with safety
standards.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and schedule maintenance and repairs to the building and equipment, including HVAC.
- Perform routine inspections of the facility to assist in building upkeep and identify needed repairs or safety issues.
- Schedule and coordinate work with outside contractors, as necessary.
- Serve as primary contact for facility related emergencies, which may require evening and weekend work.
- Respond to urgent maintenance calls and requests for minor repairs.
- Help to maintain the property and grounds through regular clean up and performing maintenance/repairs.
- Maintain a list of building needs in an effort to set priorities for projects and empower/mobilize volunteers to address issues where appropriate.
- Schedule annual inspections, e.g., for the fire alarm system, elevator, kitchen equipment, etc., be onsite with the inspectors as needed, and take necessary actions to remedy any deficiencies.
- Maintain records for anticipating and tracking building-related maintenance projects and inspections; provide a copy of the records to the church office.
- Purchase and maintain supplies and equipment on an on-going basis.
- Maintain relationships with current vendors and secure new vendors as needed.
- Organize, maintain, and secure maintenance tools and equipment.
- Oversee renovation and construction projects, including coordinating the timing of the project with staff and contractors.
- Review and analyze security measures for the building and grounds and work with the Lead Pastor to address any areas of concern.
- Assist with room set-up and tear-down for all church events.
- Supervise janitorial services to maintain a clean and sanitary interior environment.
- In collaboration with staff, create policies regarding facility use.
- Assist in the development of the facility budget. Monitor expenditures related to facility maintenance and repairs in accordance with the approved budget.
- Collaborate with the staff and Property Team Chairs to identify and prioritize completion of facility projects, including the bi-annual church beautification days.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Minimum two years experience in facilities management, including management of vendor contracts.
Self starter
General knowledge of HVAC, mechanical systems, lighting, plumbing, and other facility-related systems.
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills (managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, using efficient systems to track work, effectively delegating tasks to volunteers when appropriate), ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines, and ability to be self-directed.
Flexibility in timing of the day working and availability at odd hours, when needed.
Proactive approach to problem solving; willingness to tackle problems and find solutions.
Willingness and desire to work in a collaborative environment.
Gracious posture towards people and desire to create a hospitable and welcoming environment for our church family.
Working both indoors and outdoors, this position involves moderate physical work that will require occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and regular lifting of 20 pounds, as well as regular walking, standing, climbing stairs, using ladders, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling.

Time Allocation: 20 hrs/Week - flexible with some hours during the Sunday morning services
