Call to worship

Psalm 106:1-3

Praise the Lord!

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,

for his steadfast love endures forever!

Who can utter the mighty deeds of the Lord,

or declare all his praise?

Blessed are they who observe justice,

who do righteousness at all times!

confession of sin

Psalm 106:6-8

Both we and our fathers have sinned;

we have committed iniquity;
we have done wickedness.

Our fathers, when they were in Egypt,

did not consider your wondrous works;

they did not remember
the abundance of your steadfast love,

but rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea.

Yet he saved them for his name's sake,

that he might make known his mighty power.

Assurance of pardon

From Colossians 2:

“And you, who were dead in your trespasses…
God made alive together with him,
having forgiven us all our trespasses,
by canceling the record of debt
that stood against us with its legal demands.
This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.

In Christ, God answers us and sets us free.

In Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God.

offering prayer

O Mighty God,

you have done great things for us,

and holy is your name.

Bless all we offer you -

our selves, our time, and our possessions -

that through us your grace and favor

may be made known

throughout Kansas City and to all the world,

for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer.
Amen.
